See plansUAE VAT, in plain English
The UAE charges 5% VAT on most goods and services. If you're registered for VAT, you add 5% to your prices, collect it from customers, and pay it to the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) — less the VAT you paid on your own business purchases (input VAT). This calculator handles both directions: adding VAT to a net price, or working out the VAT already baked into a total.
You must register for VAT once your taxable supplies pass AED 375,000 in a year (voluntary from AED 187,500), then file a VAT 201 return — usually every quarter. This tool is for quick estimates; always confirm the exact treatment of your supplies with the FTA.
